Further slash questions

Oh, and here's a question for the ages.

Is m/m slash easier to write than femmeslash because the subtext is easier to spot?

Compare and contrast: two men walking down the street holding hands, vs. two women doing the same.

Could this be the reason why m/m slash is so much easier to find and is bigger than f/f slash?

Watch out, the monkey is thinking again

Apparently I should not be reading [info]metafandom. Some of the things I find there will piss me off to holy hell, as for example the incredible wtf-ery of the latest "slash is sexist" essay. Now, generally I don't mind, because there are parts of slash that are depressingly sexist, but this made me lose my shit. And I just read a third or so of it before I got so disgusted I had to hit the backbutton.

Here are my thoughts. I generalize a bit, I realize, but stick with me for a second.

Here we go. )

I am so fucking bored. Can you tell? God, I'm getting sicker by the minute, my head feels like it's going to pop, but if I have to go to bed at 10 P.M. a Friday night I will kill something. So, instead I spam. With memes! You guys can do this too! Pretty please?

Yeah, Pete/Patrick didn't make the list. On the other hand, neither did Bob/Ray, Bob/Mikey or any of the others. Bandom is too vast, I'm afraid.

del.icio.us

I've just gotten myself a del.icio.us account and have spent better part of the afternoon organizing my bookmarks. Shit, but I have a lot of them.

Anyway, currently I have listed 40 or so fics on there, and I can only count one that is the Dreaded Het. Funny. And really kind of ironic. If someone had told me five years ago that I would spend my days reading homoerotic fanfiction, I would have laughed in their faces because people in books and tv-shows weren't gay. That'd, like, defeat the whole purpose, OK?

I mean, considering my reaction to Remus/Sirius (hysterical laughter) it's not too far off from the truth. But, well. Slash. It ate my life.
